Very pretty blue-fruit and floral aromas and flavors. Medium to full body with linear and polished tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. Solid and on the money, as always. 55 per cent cabernet franc, 24 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 14 per cent merlot and seven per cent petit verdot. Drink or hold.

The Right Bank-styled release from this estate is the 2016 Le Boucher, which is 55% Cabernet Franc, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot. First made in 2013, it’s a fresh, elegant wine that has a Graves-like gravelly minerality its black cherry and cassis fruits. Picking up more floral and violet notes with air, this medium to full-bodied beauty is nicely balanced, has fine tannins, and a great finish. It’s not a powerhouse, but it shines for its nuance and elegance, and it’s capable of lasting for two decades.

The 2016 Le Boucher, David Arthur's Cabernet Franc-based wine, has turned out beautifully. Dark, pliant and inviting, the 2016 possesses lovely depth and textural resonance. Juicy dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol, espresso, spice and new leather are nicely layered throughout. Creamy and expansive on the palate, with terrific persistence, the 2016 will be easy to drink and enjoy upon release. The Franc aromatics are quite expressive today.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Red Blend Le Boucher charges out of the gate with exuberant crème de cassis, blueberry compote, spice cake and lilacs notes followed by nuances of tea leaves, tilled soil and truffles. Medium to full-bodied, plushly textured and packed with black fruit and earthy layers, it has compelling freshness and a long, perfumed finish.
