Tasting notes
Good ruby-red. Briary raspberry, minerals, nutmeg, licorice and sassafras on the nose. Rich, fat and impressively concentrated but uncompromisingly dry; large-scaled and dense. Finishes with strong but ripe tannins and lingering strawberry and raspberry flavors that showed increasing sweetness as the wine opened in the glass. A distinctly powerful, even muscular, pinot noir that really calls for a few years of patience.

The 2002 Pinot Noir Alder Springs Vineyard reveals the telltale blueberry fruit along with strawberries, spice box, and earth. It is an impressive, medium-bodied, lush, fruit-driven Pinot that should drink well for 4-6 years. (Release date Fall 04) Tel. (707) 963-3132; Fax (707) 963-9713
