Tasting notes
Cut from the same cloth, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Papa's Knoll has a similar classic herbal Cabernet style, carrying plenty of smoked plum and darker currant fruits intermixed with notes of tobacco, damp earth, chocolate, and lead pencil. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it has supple tannins, a good sense of freshness, and a lengthy finish. It too should evolve nicely for 8-10 years, if not slightly longer.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Papa's Knoll emerges from a single block in the estate. It is the richest and most voluptuous of these wines, but it balances that fruit intensity with tons of energy. Ripe red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon, mint and star anise give the 2018 its decidedly exotic personality. Ripe and expressive, with soft tannins, the 2018 is an absolute joy to taste.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Papa's Knoll has open-knit scents of warm cassis, baked plums and red currants with suggestions of wild thyme, black olives and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with crunchy black and red berry flavors, supported by grainy tannins and lovely freshness, finishing with a lively lift.
