Tasting notes
100% Chardonnay, Dijon 36, 76 and 548 clones (winemaker and vineyard manager Josh Bergström is a big advocate of 548); biodynamic. Blend from vineyards in three different AVAs (the other wines from this producer are all from single vineyards). Light matchstick aroma. Good tension and brightness of fruit. Lots of expression and tension. Really interesting, youthful, grippy wine. Only just ready to drink. (JR)

Primarily a blend of three vineyards, this is the flagship white from Bergstrom. The 2014 Chardonnay Sigrid has a savory/chalky nose of struck match, crushed stones and lightly browned toast over a core of warm peaches, lemon tart and praline. Light to medium-bodied, it has a wicked backbone of crisp acid cutting through the intense stone fruit and savory flavors, finishing with epic length.
Deeper straw than the Old Stones Chardonnay. Richer nose than the Old Stones and deeper flavour, but not as fresh. Broad and deep. Well done but needs a bit of time. (JR)
Light gold. Fresh honeydew, nectarine and pear on the highly perfumed and mineral-accented nose, complicated by hints of jasmine. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering an array of deeply concentrated yet lively orchard and citrus fruit flavors and a suggestion of gingery spices. Shows very impressive energy and cut on the mineral-laced finish, which features a suave floral quality and a touch of iodine.
