Score 87/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Deep ruby-red. Sappy aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate, pepper and mint. Brisk and firm but ultimately lacks soul. This shows good backbone but less middle-palate texture and pliancy than Copain '99 pinot noir. I don't get a lot of syrah character. Finishes with dusty tannins and decent length.
