Finishing up the Blend series, the 2018 Red Blend 27 is another interesting mix of 50% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18% Malbec. Plenty of smoky red and blue fruits, scorched earth, violets, spring flowers, and dark chocolate notes give way to a medium to full-bodied blend that has nicely integrated acidity, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. As with all these blends, the balance is spot on, it has beautiful purity of fruit and displays the class to evolve for 15+ years.

Composed of 50% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Malbec, the 2018 Blend 27 has a deep garnet-purple color and flamboyant notions of crème de cassis, stewed plums and boysenberries with suggestions of espresso, tar, licorice and Sichuan pepper plus a waft of cedar. Full-bodied, concentrated and richly fruited in the mouth, it has a great foundation of ripe, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy.
