2005 Kobalt Port

(for 500 ml.; 100% cabernet sauvignon fortified with neutral spirits from Germain-Robin; 20% alcohol, with 10.5% residual sugar) Saturated ruby. High-toned cassis and bitter chocolate aromas show a distinct superripeness and an earthy element. Very sweet and slightly roasted, but fat with red fruit, cedar and fruitcake flavors. Finishes lush, with huge tannins. Remains just this side of heavy.
