Aromas of wet stone, orange blossom and oyster shell, with plenty of oak showing. Palate initially dominated by creamy, vanillin oak, but orange blossom and exotic baking spice notes emerged with aeration. In fact, this showed explosive citrus fruits and peach as it opened in the glass.

Medium yellow. Crystallized lemon peel and a waxy suggestion of semillon on the nose; smells like a mature white Graves Rich, fat and minerally in the mouth, with suggestions of candied fruits and lanolin, and slightly oxidative notes of creamy hazelnut and filbert. On the palate, this fascinating wine reminded me of an old-style Australian semillon. Finishes with noteworthy breadth and persistence.
