Deep ruby in colour. Rich blackberry, black cherry and black plum on the nose with a menthol-herbal quality. Layered fruit and fresh acidity with powdery fine tannins on the palate. Starting to develop a touch of iodine on the finish. (SCJ)

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon The Albatross is a rock star of a wine, yielding a great array of crème de cassis fruit as well as graphite, lead pencil, gravelly earth, and tobacco. It has a solid kiss of background oak, full-bodied richness, and a seamless texture. It’s up with the finest wines I’ve tasted from Gorman and should have 15 years of longevity.
