Score 14.5/20 · Drink 2020-2022, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2020

In addition to the same DRC-imitative label of the estate bottling, this bottle ostentatiously bears a microchip made by Cypress Semiconductor, which is how the proprietor, T J Rodgers, made his millions. 202 cases made. Dark hazy garnet. Smells of dried cherry and raspberry jam. Rather extracted raspberry-jam and dried-cherry flavours mix with cedar under a thick, fleecy blanket of tannins. Is this Pinot Noir made like Merlot? Quite heavy-handed. (AY)

Lavender, sage, tobacco, chocolate, French oak and amarena cherries infuse the 2013 Pinot Noir Domaine Lois Louis Cote Sud with remarkable depth and flavor complexity. Rich and ample on the palate, with tremendous textural breadth and pure power, the Cote Sud hits all the right notes. It is bold, dramatic and drop-dead gorgeous.
