Tasting notes
The 1999 L'Ermitage Brut is a lovely mature sparkling with touches of candle smoke, mushroom powder and iodine with layers of peach pastry, caramel and hazelnuts. The palate gains intensity and richness with honeyed fruits and loads of intoxicating brioche flavors. It retains a fine, creamy mousse and has an extraordinarily long finish. This was disgorged in March of 2003.

The 1999 Brut L'Ermitage is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next few years , as it is fully mature. Dried apricot, peach, orange peel, hazelnut and brown spice are all typical of a wine that has reached its peak. It was a year marked by higher than average rainfall. Dosage is 12.6 grams per liter. Disgorged: October 2005.
