Tasting notes
The light gold-hued 2007 Chardonnay Lorenzo exhibits aromas of creme brulee, peaches, honeysuckle, and flowers in addition to terrific acidity, more minerality, and a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. Still young, this beauty should age effortlessly for 4-5 years. Winemaker Eric Stern judiciously uses wood as a complementary seasoning, which is evident in all these Chardonnays. Tel. Yellow-gold. Potent aromas of pear, citrus pith, smoked meat and toasty lees. A sexy floral quality builds with air and carries onto the palate, adding complexity to the spicy orchard fruit and Meyer lemon flavors. The leesiness echoes on the finish, which is gently chewy, mineral-driven and impressively long.
