Tasting notes
(40 percent new oak) Deep red. Lively red currant and raspberry scents are complemented by zesty spice and floral qualities and deeper vanilla and cola flourishes. Sweet and pliant on the palate, offering concentrated, oak-spiced red and dark berry and floral pastille flavors with a bracing suggestion of white pepper. Finishes silky and broad, delivering resonating spiciness and strong, fruity persistence.

The 2014 Clos des Oiseaux Pinot Noir is back! back!! back!!! - after being blended into the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir in 2013. It has a clean and pure bouquet with cranberry, Morello and minerals that is very precise. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, extremely focused and minerally with great sustain on the finish. This is a killer Pinot Noir from Walter Scott, surfeit with breeding, complexity and just plain deliciousness. Intuition tells me this is going to be an absolute joy after 5-6 years in bottle.
