Tasting notes
An even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2018 Red Blend Fifty / Fifty has a spicy, already complex style as well as medium to full-bodied aromas and flavors of currants, toasted spices, lead pencil, and tobacco leaf. Nicely textured and medium-bodied, it has some chewy yet ripe tannins and a good finish. It's a character-filled, solid 2018 to enjoy over the coming decade.

Stewed black cherry, spiced plum, nutmeg and cedar on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Structured and chewy with some iodine and black-tea notes on the finish. Try from 2023.
The 2018 Proprietary Red Fifty/Fifty is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. Medium garnet-purple in color, it comes barreling out of the glass with vibrant notes of kirsch, Black Forest cake, raspberry preserves and stewed red and black plums, leading to suggestions of dried Provence herbs and tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers layers of juicy red and black fruits, framed by chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing savory.
