Score 92+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2011
Deep ruby-red. Slightly medicinal but expressive aromas of crushed blueberry and wet stone. Sweet, pliant and deep on entry, with a distinctly chewy texture and noteworthy tension to the flavors of dark berries, redcurrant and pomegranate. Then more penetrating on the back half, delivering the strong acidity of a cool site. This very young pinot finishes with building tannins and should reward a few years of cellaring.
