Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve is another stellar wine in this range. Aside from being absolutely delicious, the Reserve offers superb quality for the money, especially by Napa Valley standards. Black cherry, chocolate, leather, smoke, spice and menthol are all generous in the glass, with the textural breadth that is such a signature of Eastern Oakville very much on display. This ample, inviting Cabernet will drink well with minimal cellaring. Fruit sources are Weitz and Fortuna. (AG)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve features vibrant blackcurrants, black cherries and redcurrants scents with nuances of cedar chest, pencil lead, lavender and bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is elegantly crafted with plush tannins and bags of black and red fruit layers, finishing on a savory note. (LPB)
Some very ripe and slightly tarry aromas on the nose here with a wealth of blackcurrants weighing in on the palate. This offers a very plush, sweetly fruited finish with oak that delivers creamed-spice notes. Plush.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve is a blend of fruit from the Fortuna and Leopoldina (Weitz) vineyards. Supple, pliant and inviting, the Reserve is a gorgeous wine for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Succulent dark cherry, mocha, new leather, spice, menthol and dark spice add nuance to the voluptuous, racy finish. This is another striking wine from Turnbull. (AG)
