Medium ruby. Spicy, enticing aromas of black raspberry, smoked meat, clove and spearmint. Offers good juicy intensity in the mouth, with mineral and graphite nuances. The succulent acids carry through to the lingering finish. Seems a bit less extracted than the '97, and all to the better.
