Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard Sud is laced with sweet red cherry, kirsch, lavender, spice and mint. Racy and candied, the 2021 is done in a decidedly exuberant style. I am pretty appreciative of higher alcohol styles when the wines are done well, but 15.5% here is searing in its intensity.

Moving to the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2021 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard Sud was all destemmed and brought up in 100% new barrels. Slightly more evolved in its aromatics of redcurrants, herbes de Provence, baking spices, and savory flowers, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a round, lush, sexy mouthfeel, soft tannins, and a great finish. This hedonistic bomb of a Pinot Noir opens up nicely with time in the glass and will evolve for 4-6 years, if not longer.
