Score 95/100 · Drink 2024-2038, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2022
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Basalt is a dark, brooding wine. Inky and opulent, with big tannins, the Basalt is certainly not a shy wine. The 2018 is going to need time to soften, but it is once again super-impressive. Dark fruit, gravel and scorched earth build into the imposing finish.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Basalt is laced with black fruit, chocolate, gravel and smoke, all of which come together to convey an impression of breadth and brooding power. Full-bodied and vibrant, the Basalt is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. This is impressive.
