Tasting notes
Shimmering ruby-red. A complex, deeply perfumed bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, cherry pit, Moroccan spices and potpourri, and a vanilla note emerges steadily with aeration. Stains the palate with juicy blackberry, boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors that flesh out and become sweeter on the back half. Shows superb delineation and spicy thrust on the impressively persistent finish, which is framed by fine-grained tannins that fold smoothly into the wine's lingering, juicy dark fruit. (71% new French oak)

Black fruit (in contrast with their red-fruited Estate 2015), full and spirity body, and the oak seems a little disparate on the finish. Should integrate better after six months? (RH)
