Tasting notes
The 2020 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a blend of declassified barrels from Ferren's single-vineyard program (specifically the Frei Road and Volpert vineyards). Matured for 18 months in 20% new French oak, it has detailed scents of cranberry sauce, tea leaves, rosewater, mossy bark and woodsmoke. The light-bodied palate is detailed and layered and strikes a fine balance of juicy fruit and earthy nuance. It has a silky texture, refreshing acidity and a long, earthy finish. It's delicious straight out of the bottle. 156 cases were made.

The 2020 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a pleasant, if rather fleeting wine to drink now and over the next few years. It's hard to get past the washed out flavors and modest depth here. Game, smoke and earthy notes convey rusticity.
