2011 Donkey & Goat Syrah Perli Vineyards

(13.5% alcohol, from fruit that was harvested on November 16th): Bright ruby. Vibrant red berry, cherry and floral scents are deepened by notes of licorice and black olive. Juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become spicier and more floral with air and show very good focus. Energetic and spicy on the finish, which is framed by smooth, late-arriving tannins. There's a tiny bit (1.5%) of viognier in here.
