Very sweet and juicy – almost porty, but in a rather nice way. Slightly dry end. But lots of quality here. Tannins well melded. Very clean finish. (JR)

A forward, medium-bodied and easygoing effort, the 2004 Gigondas offers plenty of sweet red and black fruits, spring flowers, mint and hints of green herbs to go with moderate depth and richness on the palate. Made from 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre, it’s a solid effort that’s at full maturity and should be consumed over the coming couple of years.

Dark red. Flamboyant red berry and floral nose accented by a strong garrigue character. Pure red fruit flavors expand through a long, sweet finish, with gentle, dusty tannins giving the wine shape and grip. With air, this displayed a fascinating array of fruit, mineral and floral tones.
