Tasting notes
Showing beautifully, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard comes from a site on Spring Mountain and older vines, brought up all in French oak. This majestic, full-bodied, powerful Cabernet flirts with perfection and reveals a saturated purple hue as well as fabulous notes of crème de cassis, blueberries, chocolate, green tobacco, graphite, and crushed rocks. With flawless balance and ultra-fine tannins, it has a rare mix of sexy, ripe fruit and an almost Old World sense of structure and purity. It’s going to evolve for 30 years or more.

Blackberry jam, chocolate, spice, leather and smoke run through the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard. Deep, powerful and super-concentrated, the 2015 offers plenty of up-front intensity, before some of that starts to trail off on the finish. There is not much in the way of nuance.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard is a little closed and broody to begin, giving way to notions of licorice, tar, Indian spices and camphor with a core of crème de cassis, plum preserves and blueberry compote. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers retrained black fruits and earthy layers with a firm, chewy frame and a long savory finish.
