Score 96/100 · Drink 2018-2040, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Feb 2008
The 2005 Antonino Izquierdo is 100% Tempranillo aged for 10 months in French and American oak. Purple-colored, it is super-fragrant with a complex perfume of cedar, violets, mineral, blueberry, blackberry, and plum. Opulent, layered, and hugely concentrated, it demands 8-10 years of cellaring and should be at its best from 2018 to 2040. This is the debut wine in this journal from Antonino Izquierdo. It appears to be a name worth remembering. Importer: Hidalgo Imports, Miami, FL; www.hidalgoimports.com
