Score 93-95/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2018
(just one and a half barrels produced from vines planted in 1936): Extremely reduced on the nose. Then concentrated, sappy and sweet on the palate, with its impression of solidity leavened by surprising acidity. As large-scaled as the Dent de Chien but showing less personality in the early going in spite of its energy. Finishes with strong salinity, serious structure and outstanding grip. This wine will require extended aging before it approaches its peak.
