Score 90/100 · Drink 2008-2015, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2006
The dark cherry-scented 2003 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard is an intense, backward, medium-bodied wine. Its tight but juicy core offers flavors of blackberry syrup, dark cherries, and Asian spices. Armed with considerable depth of fruit, it should repay those with the patience to wait for its character to blossom fully. Projected maturity: 2008-2015. www.kenwrightcellars.com; tel. Bright, medium red. Focused red berry and redcurrant aromas, with hints of lavender and cumin. Firm, juicy, rather wound-up flavors of redcurrant and bitter cherry. This has energy and precision, finishing tight and a bit linear, with a tangy, peppery nuance.
