Tasting notes
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad boasts slightly leafy notes, bold cassis aromas and a bed of crushed stone. It's full-bodied, maybe even a bit warm, but open-knit and not that tight or finessed. It's still an excellent wine.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad is a much more typical wine from this St. Helena site than the BAM bottling. Crushed rocks, dried herbs, minerals, sage, chocolate, licorice and bright acids open first, followed by searing tannins that give the wine all of its shape. All of the signatures of this site come through in a vivid, delineated Cabernet that delivers the goods.
In contrast, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras La Verdad is more reserved and backward, with an incredible sense of minerality in its dark fruits, chocolate, tobacco, and Pauillac-like lead pencil aromas and flavors. It's one of the few wines from Las Piedras that has reminded me of a wine from the Dr. Crane Vineyard. Full-bodied on the palate, dense, structured, and lengthy, it's a brilliant wine, but patience will be required.
