Tasting notes
From a Yountville site that seems to be growing in reputation, The Debate's 2021 Cabernet Franc Sleeping Lady Vineyard boasts attractive shadings of cedar, tobacco leaf and black cherries. It's full-bodied and richly concentrated yet silky and elegant. More restrained and focused than the To Kalon Cab Franc, it's still a terrific wine.

Moving to the Cabernet Franc releases, the 2021 Cabernet Franc Sleeping Lady Vineyard comes from a cooler site just outside of Yountville. It has a classic, traditional vibe in its cooler blue fruits, damp earth, and savory herb-driven aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with beautiful tannins, as well as plenty of mid-palate depth. Lovers of complex, classic, old-school, yet impeccably made Bordeaux blends from Napa will love this. It needs just 2-4 years and will keep for 15-20.
