Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2020

The 2017 Pinot Noir Estate The Old Vineyard is the one wine in this range that has real depth, density and persistence. Sweet dark cherry, red plum, licorice, spice and dried herbs infuse the 2017 with striking layers of complexity. Broad, deep and super-expressive, the 2017 is gorgeous. This parcel - the original block here, planted on own-rooted vines - was further behind in its ripening when the heat spikes arrived, and therefore it came through that heat with less stress. And that shows in the wine.

Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019

From vines planted in 1980, the 2017 Pinot Noir The Old Vineyard is medium ruby in color and slow and slowly unfurls its aromas of pomegranate, rhubarb, cranberry and oodles of sweet red berries with touches of blue fruit, violet, potpourri, tree bark and amaro. The palate is medium-bodied and silky but powerful, with intense flavor layers, firm and grainy tannins, fantastic freshness and a long, layered finish. 69 cases were made.
