Tasting notes
Pale yellow. Cool, highly complex nose combines stone and citrus fruits, nutmeg and a leesy complexity. Wonderfully sweet and broad on entry, then firm, dense and minerally in the middle palate, with lively framing acidity ("always the highest here," notes Hall) giving definition to the citrus and mineral flavors. Conveys a strong impression of extract. A big, dry, subtly spicy wine with a dusty, broad, very long finish.

The 2003 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard offers gorgeous aromas of white currants, citrus oils, wet stones, orange blossoms, and other assorted tropical fruits. Full-bodied, with zesty acidity, loads of flavor, and a broad, expansive, elegant yet authoritatively rich, powerful finish, this beauty should drink well for 2-3 years. Tel.
