The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is a pretty, attractive wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the fruit retains its juiciness and vibrancy. There is good richness to the flavors, along with solid balance at this level. I imagine at many other wineries the 2012 might elicit more raves, but the competition within this range is intense.

The well-made 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses good tannic grip, a Bordeaux-styled structural personality, a dark ruby/purple color, attractive blackcurrant fruit and spice box notes and medium body. Although somewhat reserved, it promises to unfold over the next decade or more.
Chimney Rock's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and sensual from start to finish. Crushed flowers, violets, cloves, menthol and blueberries wrap around the palate in a beautifully expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. All the elements are in the right place. This is an absolutely impeccable wine from Chimney Rock.
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) has aged well for a wine in its peer group. Bright acids perk up a core of dark red fruit, spice, leather, mint and mocha. Medium in body, with good energy, the 2012 is a wine to drink. Now that the primary fruit has mostly faded, the vibrant acids of the year are exposed and dominate the wine's balance.
