Score 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2004
Bright red-ruby with a purple tinge. Vibrant, pure aromas of black cherry, violet and menthol. At once silky and firm on the palate, with sappy, complex flavors of crushed blackberry and cassis lifted by violet florality. Rich and perfumed pinot noir, with a sweet suggestion of dark chocolate. Finishes with big, broad tannins and excellent length. I can't recall a stronger set of pinot noirs from this producer.
