Tasting notes
Bright red. Primary red and dark berry aromas are complemented by rose, cinnamon and allspice. Juicy and sharply focused, with very good depth to its spicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors. Fine-grained tannins add shape and grip to the long, spicy, appealingly sweet finish.

The 2010 Pinot Noir Trolley is a fabulous wine. It boasts considerable energy and focus from start to finish. Dark red cherries, mint, minerals and spices are some of the many nuances that flow from this beautifully delineated wine. Saline notes frame the long, nuanced finish. I can hardly wait to taste the single-vineyard Pinots.

I can hardly wait to taste the single-vineyard Pinots. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Carroll Kemp left a career in the film industry to focus on his passion for making wine. Kemp focuses mostly on cooler-climate sites and tends to pick on the early side. The wines are made with native yeasts in a style that emphasizes juiciness and approachability, but also structure. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to taste the 2010 vineyard-designate Pinots, as they were bottled just prior to my visit. Tel. (707) 829-8500
