Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir Mae Estate CP is a barrel selection, vinified entirely with whole clusters and matured in 100% new oak. It has deep scents of blackberry preserves, pipe tobacco, charcuterie, forest floor and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and vibrant with a core of broody fruit and a long finish streaked with complex earth and spice accents. Generous and expressive, it's drinkable now but will mature gracefully over the next 10-15 years.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Mae Estate Vineyard CP is a selection of just four barrels. Powerful, austere and tightly wound, the 2021 is dominated by whole clusters and new oak influence. It will be interesting to see if time will soften the huge tannins. Today, the CP is not especially approachable, but time in the glass strongly suggest all it requires is a bit of patience.
