Tasting notes
Blackberry and strawberry with forest floor and bark aromas. Oyster shell. Some hibiscus. Full-bodied and juicy. Tight, fine and chewy tannins. Excellent length. Needs time to come together. From young vines. Impressive. Better after 2025.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Mae Estate CP has a medium ruby-purple color and lush pomegranate and raspberry streaked with iron, pepper, charcuterie, mushrooms and dark spices from its maturation in 100% new French oak. Medium-bodied, it has dusty tannins, seamless freshness, soft waves of perfumed fruits and a very long, spicy finish.
The 2020 Pinot Noir Mae Estate Vineyard CP is a six barrel blend of the best lots in the cellar. Dark fruit, spice, earthiness and imposing tannins are the signatures. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2020 for at least few years. Today, it is pretty brutish, and yet there is good depth lurking beneath those potent tannins and structure.
