Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Phase V from Davis Estates is a huge, intense wine. The roasted fruit profile, aggressive tannins and slightly oxidative notes suggest the 2015 is best enjoyed over the next few years.

This includes fruit from the Davis Estates vineyard, Beckstoffer Georges III and Palisades vineyards. A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 4% Petite Sirah aged for 28 months in 85% new French oak, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Phase V from winemaker Philippe Melka is very deep purple-black in color and features fragrant crème de cassis, preserved plums and baked cherries with touches of baking spices, garrigue, tapenade and tobacco plus a hint of pepper. The palate is medium to full-bodied with loads of elegantly played black fruit and spicy notions, framed by chewy tannins and finishing long. 464 cases produced, to be released in April 2019.
