Tasting notes
Deep, bright-rimmed scarlet. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red and blue fruits, potpourri, spicecake and vanilla, along with a smoky mineral overtone. Concentrated yet energetic in style, showing sharp definition and spicy lift to bitter cherry, boysenberry and floral pastile flavors, which deepen through the midpalate. The spice and floral notes carry through a very long, gently chewy finish that features building tannins and a repeating blue fruit note.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Pelos Sandberg Vineyard is dark and intense. Aromas of herbal tea, red plum, spiced citrus and flowery underbrush emerge on the nose. The palate is juicy, nearly fleshy in style, with depths of dark wild berry fruit and exotic spices that saturate. Despite its size and concentration, the 2018 remains fresh and still shows a gentle tannic tug as nuances of licorice fade.
