Score 93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2004

Deep red-ruby color. Knockout nose combines raspberry coulis, black cherry, minerals, coffee and flowers. Superconcentrated, sweet and penetrating, with vibrant flavors of raspberry, kirsch, coffee and game nicely framed by the wine's minerality. Finishes with firm but fine tannins. Very pure, perfumed pinot noir; the most impressive of the line-up on this day.

Score 88/100 · Drink 2003-2007, Robert Parker, Dec 2003

The medium dark ruby-colored 2002 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard tastes like it’s made from slightly higher yields than the 2001, as there is an element of lightness, and the flavors are not as intense. Nevertheless, it reveals plenty of blue and black fruit characteristics along with meaty, foresty aromas. With moderate body and good purity, but not the length, volume, or layers of the 2001, it will drink well for 3-4 years. (Release date Fall 04) Tel. (707) 963-3132; Fax (707) 963-9713
