Tasting notes
A new wine in this range, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard - Block 4 is a four barrel blend of Clone 337 Cabernet that saw extended time in barrel. It's a gorgeous wine, with plenty of dark fruit mixed with brambly, earthy and savory notes. Clone 337 tends to give more mid-weight Cabernets with strong aromatics, so I am not sure the extended barrel approach is ideal here, as the oak leaves an imprint in its chocolaty tannins and flavor profile. Even so, the 2018 is a very attractive wine.

A classic Sonoma County Cabernet that has a touch of Bordeaux style in its darker currants, lead pencil, crushed stone, and tobacco-laced aromas and flavors, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard is medium to full-bodied and has a beautifully textured mouthfeel, lots of ripe tannins, and a great finish. This brilliant wine can be drunk today but will be better with 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 20+.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard is endowed with tremendous palate presence and intensity. Inky dark fruit, licorice, spice, sage, lavender and menthol all meld together in the glass. A Cabernet of depth and savory nuance, the Wedding melds together the structure of the mountain with layers of inky dark fruit. It is another magnificent wine in this range.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard is, today, the most compelling and thrilling of the three 2018 Cabernets I tasted at Fisher. Deep, pliant and resonant, with terrific depth, the 2018 captures all of the savory intensity of this site with an extra kick of elegance that is such a 2018 signature. In a word: magnificent.
