Tasting notes
Moving to the Syrah releases, the 2012 Syrah Estate Vineyard is one seamless, sexy, straight-up gorgeous Syrah that does everything right. Offering up a beautiful perfume of blackberries, new leather, dried herbs, peppered meats, and hints of dried flowers, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, sweet, polished tannins, and a forward, open knit, flamboyant style that’s just a joy to drink. It’s great today but will keep through 2026.

The 2012 Syrah Estate, which also emerges from Sonoma Mountain, has huge tannic clout, a restrained, Hermitage-like austerity, but deep crème de cassis, blackberry, graphite and crushed rock. It is a long-distance runner and should be cellared for a good 3-4 years before being consumed over the following 10-15 years.
