Score 92+/100 · Drink 2022-2031, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2018
The 2016 Pinot Noir Legan Vineyard is bright and nicely focused, with terrific purity in the raspberry, dried cherry, sage and mint flavors that fill out its mid-weight frame. Yields were low because of the poor set of the year before. As a result, the 2016 is marked by persistent beams of tannin that give the wine much of its overall shape. I very much like the purity here. It will be interesting to see if the 2016 softens with a bit more time in bottle.
