Tasting notes
Good medium ruby. Wild aromas of roasted black raspberry, pepper, bacon fat and nutty oak. Silky and fine-grained, with a gamey syrah character that's currently overshadowed by an impression of strong acidity. Very intensely flavored and firm but a bit youthfully disjointed at the moment. This plot is on the crest of the hill, at the top of Spring Mountain, on quartz rock, with water stress putting a cap on vine vigor.

The 2004 Syrah’s dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by sweet aromas of blackberries and cassis, lively, fresh acidity, medium body, and a stylish personality. Consume it over the next 4-5 years.
