Tasting notes
Fashioned by winemaking consultant Thomas Brown for the Baseball Hall of Famer and former New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon GTS is a gorgeous example of Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins have been tamed, and the wine displays an inky purple color, while the fruit offers up beautiful blackcurrant, licorice and plum, the body is full, and the texture velvety, opulent and long. This is hard to resist already (no doubt the 2014 vintage has something to do with that), but it is long, rich, and complete, with a further upside of a good 15 or more years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon GTS is powerful, intense and savory, with plenty of mountain character. Dark cherry plum, graphite, mint and savory herbs all flesh out. This is an especially opulent style for Diamond Mountain.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon GTS possesses exceptional balance, with more than enough depth and intensity to stand up to the huge tannins. Inky blue and black fruit, graphite, smoke and licorice add multiple shades of dimension. Readers will have to be patient with the 2014, but it is a beauty.
