Tasting notes
Kanzler's 2010 Pinot Noir is a pretty, delicate wine. Sweet red cherries, tobacco, licorice and spices all come together in this soft, inviting Pinot. Savory herbs, juniper berries, autumn leaves and wild flowers appear later, adding complexity. The 2010 could use another 6-12 months for the whole clusters to integrated a little more fully, but it is nevertheless immensely appealing, even at this early stage.

Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. The Kanzler family has provided several top Sonoma wineries with fruit for years. Beginning with the 2010 vintage, Alex Kanzler took over the reins as winemaker at his family’s estate. If this debut effort is any indication, Kanzler has a bright future ahead as a talented winemaker in his own right. Tel. (707) 824-1726
