2001 J. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain

This backward, opaque purple-colored 2001 needs another 4-5 years of cellaring. Tasting more like a 3-4 year old Cabernet Sauvignon, this mountain-grown effort is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec. Abundant blueberry, white flower, black currant, licorice and crushed rock aromas are followed by a full-bodied, powerful, rich wine with plenty of tannins still to be resolved.
