Tasting notes
The 2014 Proprietary Red from Rutherford, which is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot and 15% Malbec, is a contrast to the Proprietary Left Bank. A slightly firmer, structured wine due to the Petit Verdot component, it displays a dense purple color, with loads of crème de cassis, blackberry, charcoal and incense. The finish is not as long as the Left Bank’s, but that again may be the Petit Verdot. This solidly made wine should age nicely for 15 or more years.

Round Pond's 2014 Proprietary Red is, soft, open-knit and succulent, all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. This is an especially juicy style, largely the result of the inclusion of 15% Malbec in the blend.
