Tasting notes
(a blend of 58% petit verdot, 34% cabernet sauvignon and 8% cabernet franc) Bright ruby-red. Licorice, smoky oak and a hint of surmaturite on the nose. Round, sweet and approachable, with plum and licorice flavors. Finishes with dusty, broad tannins and good freshness and grip. Viader pointed out that both the cabernet franc and the petit verdot performed better in the warmer, longer 2002 growing season.

Saturated medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, cassis, bitter chocolate, menthol, tobacco and minerals. Less lush than the proprietary blend but more concentrated and consistent than the 2000 version of this wine. Fat, sweet and sexy, with a layered texture. Finishes with big but suave tannins and excellent length.
