Tasting notes
16 months in 34% new French oak. 1,391 cases. Some evolution at the rim. First bottle: rich, definite age on the nose. Sweet and round. Very flattering and ready to enjoy though lots of heat on the end. Second bottle: a little fresher but still a tad evolved. Big, sweet and furry. Fermented pastilles. (JR)

Outpost's 2015 Zinfandel packs a serious punch. Inky black fruit, chocolate and spice are pushed forward in this decidedly explosive, structured Zinfandel. Today, the 2015 is a bit rough around the edges, but all the elements are present to allow the wine to come together in bottle.
Leading off the wines from bottle, the 2015 Zinfandel (100% Zinfandel brought up in one-third new oak) boasts a deep purple color as well as textbook notes of blueberry, plum, white pepper and incense. With full-bodied richness, a seamless texture, and a ripe, perfumed style, it’s killer Zinfandel to drink over the coming decade.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Zinfandel bursts forth with a gregarious black cherry, raspberry preserves and mulberries nose plus hints of spice cake, dusty earth, dried herbs and black olives. Full-bodied, rich and plush in the mouth, it fills the palate with baking spice and fruitcake notions, finishing long and chewy. 1,120 cases produced.
