Tasting notes
The 2011 La Carte et Le Territoire, a Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend, is gorgeous. Dark cherries, red plums, spices, new leather and tobacco flesh out in the glass. Like all of the Aaron Pott's 2011s, La Carte et Le Territoire stands out for its supple personality. There are no hard edges in this beautifully sculpted, succulent St.Emilion-inspired red. The 2011 should drink nicely for at least a handful of years. In 2011, the blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

(a 70/30 blend of merlot and cabernet franc): Good deep red-ruby. Aromatic, cool aromas of currant, mint, herbs, licorice and leather. Moderately dense and spicy, with an essentially supple texture to the black fruit and licorice pastille flavors. A strong spine of acids and tannins accentuates the impression of verve.
